The idea of studying nano-structures was established in the year 1959 when Nobel laureate and theoretical physicist Richard Feynman spoke about miniaturizing old-age computers in his famous talk entitled “There’s plenty of room at the bottom”. Recently, the 2016 Nobel Prize in Chemistry awarded to Prof. Jean Pierre Sauvage, Prof. Sir J. Fraser Stoddart, and Prof. Bernard Lucas Feringa “for the design and synthesis of molecular machines”, established yet another key milestone in the history of nanotechnology.
