Preface

In the midst of our struggle with Corona, the distance between the professor and his demand and the loss of our loved ones, and after taking into account the crucial importance of pediatric surgery and the neglect of this specialty, which caused the loss of many cases due to loss of correct written curriculum, I decided with my students in the final grade of the medical school to have a hand that writes and hand that works to save children who suffer from surgical problems that require a surgical intervention. It might be simple. However, we see it greater than that, as life will smile for this child, to live decades with the slightest trace of a birth defect or many other cases. Therefore, we started to communicate, consult, summarise, disagree, and agree through the closed electronic circuit; accordingly, the result of these efforts is the book of “Essentials of pediatric surgery "that we are now putting in the hands of our students and our dear colleagues to be the best guide in the pediatric surgery. We have summarised the important chapters of international references of pediatric surgery that benefit students from the Faculty of Medicine and interns to enter into this specialty. All thanks and appreciation to those who contributed, participated and gave their time. We are full of pleasure and joy because we did not give up on the mortal from Corona and its ramifications and wait for the day the Earth returns and it is free of Corona. It is necessary to mention the great effort of Dr. Houreleen Hadi in following up, compiling and designing the book and for everyone who contributed and participated in it. They have all kind and respectful.
