Introduction
This series deals with contemporary statistical data analysis, which generally involves data collection, transformation, interpretation and finally data validation, considering various statistical methods applied currently within the dominance of computer methods. Its subject includes also data mining, focusing on statistical modeling and knowledge discovery for predictive rather than purely descriptive and confirming/falsifying purposes. It concerns both quantitative research, which seeks to quantify the data and employs some form of statistical investigation, as well as qualitative data basically involving descriptive data, such as survey and observational data. In particular, the subject of this series includes classic domains such as estimation, hypothesis testing, and forecasting, as well as modern supporting decision making (business intelligence), data aggregation, data modeling, text analytics, and many others, using both a statistical approach and contemporary computer methods.
